Top 10 Toddler Utensils and Dishes

When it comes to toddler utensils and dishes, there are so many options nowadays that it can be hard to figure out which are the best ones! When I had my first son, I went around buying tons of toddler utensils and dishes for him, because I just found everything so cute that I had to get them.

Many of my choices were great, but others were really frustrating and ended up just being added to the pile of junk stuff. I decided to write this post so I can share with you the best options I could find both times, with my first and second sons!

This way, you don’t have to go around buying the worst toddler utensils and dishes available just to find out there’s nothing more to them, other than cuteness!

My top 10 choices for toddler utensils & dishes

I literally just went through our cabinets and gathered all of my favorite toddler utensils and dishes of all times! Plates, cups, sippy cups, thermal bottles, forks, spoons, and mats.

Ready to see what’s inside my cabinets? Here we go.

Toddler Cups

#1. Oxo Tot Twist Lid Straw Cup

I bought this cup before going on a trip across the globe with Sam (he was about 16 months old at the time), and I wanted to make sure he had a spill-proof cup for us to bring!

The Oxo Tot Twist Lid Straw Cup not only is spill-proof but its lid is also twistable, allowing you to hide the straw from getting in contact with bacteria from the airplane, bus, train, or whatever it is you’re traveling by.

We’ve had it for more than a year now and it’s holding up very well. It’s also one of my son’s favorite cups.

Another thing about it is that it has a silicone straw so your child won’t be able to destroy it if biting into it. It’s very durable and flexible.

My son has another cup from the dollar store with a plastic straw, which is basically ruined from him biting into it, so I don’t recommend plastic straws unless your child is old enough to control the biting.

#2. Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup

This cup was bought with the Oxo cup mentioned in my top choice #1 (above) for the exact same trip! I love that it looks like a big kid cup and that they get to practice as if they were drinking from an adult cup!

I’m amazed by the system they were able to develop for the water to come out of the Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup. If you look at the first image, it looks like the cup is completely sealed, (which it is) making it spill-proof.

However, the outer lid is made of silicone and it’s completely flexible! So when the child brings their lips to the cup, it molds the lid in a way that allows the water to flow through. This is definitely one of my favorite toddler cups of all times!

#3. Replay No Spill Sippy Cup

This is my favorite in the category of standard sippy cups! Replay No Spill Sippy Cups are super simple, but they come in vibrant colors, and they’re super affordable.

Replay also has plates and utensils (which are certainly included in the list) that are vibrant in color and match with each other.

A cool fact about them is that they’re made from FDA approved sustainable HDPE recycled plastic, so they’re good for your child as well as for the environment!

#4. SugarBooger Silverware Set by Ore Originals

The SugarBooger utensils are extremely durable, well-designed, and practical! They come in this cute plastic case that’s perfect for any on-the-go occasions or even trips! We took it with us on our trip to Brazil and it made everything so much easier.

The utensils were kept together in the case at all times, which made them a lot easier to be found when needed, and it kept them clean and isolated.

#5. Replay Utensils

I love the Replay Utensils basically for the same reasons I love their cups. They’re simple, they come in vibrant colors and they’re extremely affordable, without compromising on quality!

#6. EzPz Happy Mat

Plates were one of the most frustrating things I bought when my son was starting to feed himself. All kids are different, but my little boy just had an incredibly huge appreciation for throwing his plates on the floor.

I felt like a prisoner sitting by his side to make sure he wouldn’t throw them and make the biggest mess on Earth (Am I the only mom who’s ever watched their kids throughout the entire meal at almost every meal just so they wouldn’t throw their plate on the floor? Yes, I did that for real!)

I bought tons of things that promised to stick the plate on the high chair tray, but none of them worked. Then, I saw the EzPz Happy Mat on Shark Tank and I couldn’t believe it! You can read all the details about this life-saving silicone plate that actually sticks to the table, right here.

Someone had finally had the brains to come up with the most amazing idea in this planet! Woohoo! A plate that is also a mat and that will stick to basically any surface you have in your kitchen/dining area.

They come in vibrant colors (or they also have a grey option), are made with a very durable grade of silicone, and guess what? They’re dishwasher safe! There’s nothing else I could ask for on a plate!

After we bought EzPz mats, we didn’t buy any more plates. We kept the ones we had, but those are the ones we use the most for both boys!

#7. EzPz Happy Bowl

The EzPz Happy Bowl has basically the same concept as the EzPz Happy Mat, but as the name says, it’s a bowl! It’s great for serving salads, pasta, cereal, fruits, or even soups!

Having both the Ezpz Happy Mat and the Ezpz Happy Bowl in our home has just made our family mealtime so much easier.

The silicone used to make the EzPz Happy Bowl can tolerate high temperatures. It’s dishwasher safe, remember?

Snack Cups

#8. Munchkin Snack Catcher

For a long time, I restrained myself from buying snack cups like this one, which has those rubber flaps to catch the food, preventing it from falling out. Not because I’m against them or anything too complicated, but simply because I found their design a little weird.

Can you believe this? Duh.

So, yeah… those rubber flaps look kinda weird, but who cares??? They prevent the whole cup of cheerios from falling out on the living room carpet, or on their car seat!

When I finally gave them a chance, I was a completely new person! There’s no way I’m sitting right next to them (without even blinking) while they eat, afraid they’ll get my kitchen full of cheerios or raisins anymore.

The  Munchkin Snack Catcher is one of my favorite snack containers and it’s my go-to option for snacks, especially when we’re on the go!

#9. Paw Patrol Snack Container

This Paw Patrol Snack Container was a great find at the dollar store close to our home. As you know, with the dollar store, it can be a hit or miss situation. I can’t promise you’ll find it, but just remember to look for them once you’re there. They had other characters available and girl themes as well.

What I like about them, is the size and the lid. You can remove the lid completely by twisting it off. Or you also have the option to open just half, which decreases the chances of a huge mess when your kids are eating.

Now, last, but not least…

Toddler Thermal Bottles

#10. THERMOS Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Bottle

I love this bottle! Sam is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! When I saw it I couldn’t pass on it. Thermos bottles are durable and spill proof. They keep the water cold for a very very long time! They have tons of other characters, sizes, and styles!

These are my top 10 toddler utensils and dishes

There’s nothing too crazy about them, but what I love is that they’re either super helpful, making my journey as a mom less stressful, or they’re extremely affordable. One or the other, which makes all of them completely worth the investment!

I hope this information is helpful for you as you look for the best toddler utensils and dishes for your little prince or princess!

Let me know in the comments what you think. Or if you have some tips and suggestions, I’d love to hear them out as well. I love discovering new things for my boys!
