Hello, friend!
I’m so glad you, somehow, got here. I hope you and I get to spend a lot of time together, creating a thriving home & family life!
You see, when I started the blog I had no big plans for it. I just wanted to share my own life and experiences. It was like a personal diary of my life that friends and family could read. It wasn’t long until I realized that this little corner of the internet was a lot more powerful than that.
I don’t only want to share my experiences and life anymore, but I want to share those in a way that will impact others. I strive to create a thriving home & family life for my husband, my kids and I. I strive to live intentionally and to build moments that will be treasured forever by us, and I want to help you do the same!
Here, I share about:
- Food – I’ve always loved to cook! So much so that I went to school for culinary arts, because I wanted to have my own restaurant. Ha. Then, I got married, had kids, and realized I want to have the family time a restaurant would not allow me to have! {Grab a tissue so you can dry your keyboard when your mouth waters from looking at the food section}
- Family Finances – My husband and I got married, bought a house, got a new car, and got pregnant all at the same time. You can certainly imagine the size of the huge debt snowball we built. At one point, I believe we had over 50k in credit card debt + car payments + mortgage. We took Financial Peace University and became the boss of our financial life! Here, I share our journey and how we overcame that difficult time.
- Parenting Tips – There’s no right way of parenting and no one-fits-all formula that can be applied to every family/child in the world. This is why I share amazing resources and information that will boost your knowledge so you can make choices that work for you and your own family. I share what works and what doesn’t work for us with hopes that it will be helpful to you.
- Faith – My mom always went to church on Sundays, but at one point I stopped going with her. A little later, I stopped believing in God altogether. I reached the lowest point in my life, and right then, He looked at me with mercy and grace, and changed my life! God is a great Father and He never forgets about us. He loves us, He loves you, and I’m here to remind you of that! This my great calling in Him that I decided to accept and commit to!
You will see a lot more than that here on the blog, but I wanted to share a little bit about what you can expect from me. As I said, I strive to create a family life that I love! And… of course, I wanna help you do the same!
About me
I could write forever talking about my story, but I don’t want this to get boring. How about I share some fun facts? 😉
I’ve lived in 6 different cities
I started typing why of each move, and it almost became a whole blog post on its own! So, I will just say that I’ve lived in two different cities in Brazil, where I was born, one city in Canada, and three different cities here in the US. We don’t want to move anymore. We’re so tired of moving, and we found our perfect place, here in Spokane, WA!
I never thought blogging would end up becoming my business
I’ve been blogging since college, and I had a total of 5 blogs, this one being the 5th. All of them were never with a bigger purpose in mind. I always just had the need to write and share my experiences and emotions. When I started receiving emails from brands wanting to collaborate with me, I was really happy and excited that something I love could impact others, and as a consequence, give me the ability to also make money.
I started studying about blogging and right now, I’m revamping the whole site to improve your reading experience. Building a Framework has been a game changer for me, giving me a lot of amazing tools and powerful tips!
I’m a timid person, but I like to overcome challenges
I know that because I’m putting myself out there, with the blog and social media, it doesn’t seem like it. But, I’m very much timid most of the time. Sometimes, my husband even pushes me to go say “hi” to people if I don’t. If I’ve met you for the first time and then didn’t say “hi” when we met again, it was nothing personal. It was just that I was too afraid of you not remembering me! {smile}
Although I’m kinda timid when I just meet someone, after some time together, I’m very quick to open up. I also try to overcome the challenges that come my way, so can you believe I hosted a mommy event in Brazil? I did it together with another fellow Brazilian blogger and the owner of a kids’ entertainment venue. I talked about mom guilt and how we don’t need to feel it.
Having 5 kids was one of my dreams
I always wanted to have a big family! It’s so nice when everyone gets together and there’s laughter, everyone’s is talking at the same time, making you get confused and wonder who you were talking to in the first place.
I’ve always loved the holidays and the family gatherings. Now that we live across the globe from our entire family, it’s crucial that we have many kids to fill up the house with joy and laughter. I’m just not sure I can handle 5. We’ll see. I’m thinking more like 3 or 4!
My husband and I are both from Brazil, but we met in Orlando, FL
I went to Orlando to participate in an International College Program at Walt Disney World. The whole program was only 2 and a half months long, but after it was over I met Deivid {it’s actually pronounced David, but his mom was very creative and decided to change it up a bit 😉 }. We started dating and soon got married there. That’s why I never moved back to Brazil. Now we only go there for vacation!
We have two handsome boys
We have two boys: Samuel (here’s the story of his birth), who is three years old, and Daniel (here’s the story of his birth), who is one year old.
They are very different in their personalities, yet you can still see the similarities and tell they are brothers. Samuel has always looked just like Deivid. He’s like a mini Deivid. Daniel, on the other hand, looks just like me and please, do not disagree. I can’t handle it! At least one of them has to look like me, right?
I was never very good at sports
I remember when it was time for the yearly Olympics at my High School. It was a huge event and I got excited about it just like any other student. However, if you were there to watch the games, you’d see that I was always on the bench {laugh}! I would rarely play, but when I did, I was the girl who ran away from the ball, afraid it was going to smash her face! Yup. That was me and still is, by the way.
Because I wasn’t good at sports, it doesn’t mean that I didn’t do well in any of the other extracurricular activities. I was actually very good at dancing, painting, sewing, and a lot of things on the creative side. Nowadays, I love to photograph, design, write, and create content in general. I don’t know why it took me so long to realize the blog was not just a hobby! Duh.
I’m a follower of Jesus and I want to share His love with everyone!
It took me a long time before I met Jesus in the way I know Him today. For a very long time, I didn’t know I could have a relationship with Him.
I didn’t know He was actually listening to what I said. With time, I discovered that not only does He listen to what I say, but He also speaks to me and that’s the best part. It was a long road, but today I can say Jesus is the best thing that happened in my life and I can’t wait to share more of Him with you!
Now that you know plenty about me, what would you like to do?
