This Flatbread Trio is perfect for entertaining friends and family. It features three popular flavors (Caprese, Four Cheese, and Philly Cheese Steak & Bacon), that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Everyone will be asking for a second round!
My husband and I are in a season of our lives that we want to entertain our friends and deepen our relationships with them.
We want to step out of our comfort zone and make time for what matters most.
After many years of him working on weekends, holidays, and late nights, we finally have time to enjoy our lives a little more.
This week, we had friends over two times. That’s a lot for a couple who goes months without having anybody over (laugh).
Obviously, we had to be creative and cook food that would have high chances of pleasing our guests.
For a family of friends, we cooked Brazilian food (including the Gluten-free Cheese Bread with Bacon Bits) so they could have a taste of our culture. For my tribe of girls, I made flatbreads.
Before they came over, I did a taste testing with Deivid and we loved the Flatbread trio.
Caprese, Four Cheese, and Philly Cheese Steak & Bacon (of course we had to add bacon) are three flavors that we’re crazy about and I believe most people are too.
Why are flatbreads a good option for entertaining?
First of all, the dough is thinner than a regular pizza dough, which makes it bake faster and be ready in no time.
Second, the toppings are lighter than on a pizza and so is the sauce. Sometimes, there’s no sauce at all, like two of the Flatbreads in the trio.
Don’t worry! It is still very tasteful. I promise.
I made sure to spread a mix of olive oil, pizza seasoning and garlic on the dough to make it even tastier than usual.
The fact that is a lot lighter than pizza, allows you to make several different flavors because people won’t be full in the first bite. It also goes well when paired with wine, like we did at home.

This is the easiest of the Flatbreads to make. It requires no sauce! You spread the garlic mix on the flatbread for moisture and flavor. Then, you top it with fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil.
Now that I’m writing it, I just realized how many fresh ingredients go on it. Maybe this is why the Caprese Flatbread is the lightest of the trio.
Four Cheese Flatbread
The Four Cheese Flatbread is the creamiest combination. No surprise on that, right?
The sauce is completely optional, but I thought a thin layer of Alfredo sauce wouldn’t hurt anybody. (I love Alfredo sauce and I don’t think I’m alone. Ha). Top that with shredded mozzarella cheese, shredded parmesan cheese, blue cheese crumbs, and cubes of fresh mozzarella.
To sweeten things up a bit, drizzle balsamic reduction over the fresh-out-of-the-oven Flatbread. You can also drizzle the balsamic reduction on the Caprese Flatbread.

Philly Cheese Steak & Bacon Flatbread
Who doesn’t love a Philly Cheese Steak whether it’s a sandwich, pizza, bowl, or just anything? Since the other two options were meatless, I wanted to add a Flatbread flavor that would please the meat lovers.
This is why not only does this option has steak on it, but it also has bacon. The king pleaser of the meat lovers.
Again, for this option, I didn’t add any sauces. I just coated the Flatbread with a thin layer of the garlic mix. Then, I topped it with mozzarella cheese, sauteed steak, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers.
Which one of the Trio would be your pick?
Making the Flatbread Trio the perfect dish for entertaining friends & family
How do you present the Flatbread Trio in a way that it’s easy for friends and family to self-serve and enjoy the deliciousness?
To make it easy to grab, I laid it on a large Thyme and Table wooden serving tray and cut it into medium-sized square pieces.
You can set a little bowl aside, with the balsamic reduction for people to drizzle over their pieces the way they like it. Some people are not big fans of balsamic reduction. So this would give them the option to not add it at all.
Now, to the recipe…
I hope this Flatbread Trio has inspired you to have your house full of guests and devote some time to deepening your friendships and family relationships.
It’s the perfect dish to keep your guests’ mouth and heart full!
