Stroganoff is a Russian dish and its basic concept is “pieces of beef served in a sauce with sour cream”. It doesn’t get any easier than that. The dish was a hit and it became popular all around the world. So much so, that it became very popular in the United States and in Brazil, where I grew up.
Stroganoff is so popular in Brazil that all my life, I was pretty sure it had been created there. It wasn’t until I moved to United States that I discovered Stroganoff was actually originated in Russia.
Praise the Russians for that!
