This is a very thorough, honest review of the Living Well Planner and its features. Read the entire post to benefit fully from this review.
I went to the Living Well Shop, added the Living Well Planner to my cart, but when it was time to finally enter my credit card information, I hesitated. Would a planner be worth a $49 investment? Was I crazy to pay that much while I can find a pretty planner at Walmart for $8.97?
I messaged a friend who had bought the planner and asked a bunch of questions! She seemed pretty convinced that the Living Well Planner was the best one out there. But I just couldn’t shake the price when I had seen a similar planner for under $9 at Walmart. What I was wrong about was that the planner I had seen at the Walmart store, was not similar to the Living Well Planner at all.
I thought it had a couple of the same features, but the thing is… I had not taken my time to fully investigate the Living Well Planner.
Here’s what happened. I bought the inexpensive planner at the store and I was super happy with my decision. Until… I ran across a Living Well Planner ad on Instagram (I think. Maybe Facebook ad?) where I was able to see tons of photos of the inside of the Living Well Planner.
And because seeing all the features the planner has inside was what made me decide on going for it, I want to make sure you see them too. This way, you can understand what I’m talking about! In this review, you can expect to see tons of photos from the inside pages as well.
I also created a video showing all the details inside and out the planner as well as the accessories I use with mine. If you prefer video format, you’re more than welcome to watch it here, or keep reading:
When I realized the Living Well Planner is NOT an ordinary planner. It’s a complete life planner!
When I saw that ad, I was shocked at how many features and how many different areas of my life I would be able to organize in the Living Well Planner. So there I went, back to Walmart, to return the planner I had bought.
Don’t get me wrong, the other planner is really cute and it may be right for a lot of people. I gifted it to a few friends this Christmas and to my sons’ teachers as well. It’s beautiful! It’s just a lot simpler than the Living Well Planner.
And I need something that allows me to plan my blog-related goals, general life matters, and my kids’ stuff as well. In short, my whole life!
After returning my Walmart planner, I went home and finally bought the Living Well Planner on the Living Well Shop. This time, with the confidence I was investing in much more than a planner. I invested in organizing my whole life, setting big goals for my future, accomplishing them, and having the support and encouragement I need to do so along the way!
I want you to have an idea of what pages you will find in the planner. The same ones that blew me away in that ad and made me finally take the life-changing step to invest in it!
Living Well Planner Specs
Measurements: 9″ (including the spiral) x 9 3/4″.
The front and back covers of the planner are incredibly sturdy. I definitely don’t need to say they’re beautiful. Do I? I think the picture above speaks for itself.
The covers contain metal brackets on each corner for durability (and I believe style purposes too!) 😍
As soon as you open the front cover of the planner, there’s a really neat sleeve/pocket inside that allows you to carry any papers or bills you might want to.
What you see on my inside pocket are the two sticky note pads that came with my own planner:
- Daily Do-It Sticky Note Pad
- Weekly Wizard Sticky Note pad
Both can be found in the accessories section of the Living Well Shop. They have a pretty awesome system that allows you to plan your tasks according to their order of importance.
The A tasks are your must-do tasks! The ones you can’t go without accomplishing.
The B tasks are your should-dos. The next most important tasks.
And your C tasks are your would-like-to-dos. The ones that are not so important, but you still would like to accomplish. I use these all the time with my planner.
Another favorite accessory I use with my planner
Frixion pens by PILOT. They’re completely erasable and to be honest erase better than pencils. You can’t see any mark left behind. They’re perfect!
With them, I don’t have to worry about making mistakes or ruining my planner.
Pages of the Living Well Planner
Like I said, I want to show you all the different pages and features you can find in the planner. To make it easier, I will divide the pages into two categories:
- Monthly pages: These are the pages that you’ll see every month. They will allow you to really organize your whole life and keep everything under control.
- General pages: These are pages you’ll see one time in your planner, like the sticker page, emergency contacts, etc.
Let’s take a look at the monthly pages found in the Living Well Planner
I find the monthly pages amazingly useful and fun as well. That’s why we’ll start with them. I love that all of the different areas you need to organize in your life are displayed monthly in the planner.
This allows you to have everything in one single place. Here are the different things you’ll find in your planner every month:
- Quote of the Month
- Monthly Goals
- Goal Crushing
- Project Planning
- Month at a Glance
- Weekly Plans (daily-tasks & meal planning)
- Budget Planning
- Monthly Expenses
- Thoughts & Thanks
- Notes & Ideas
Quote of the Month
Every month starts with a quote page, which is actually kind of a divider too. It’s a little bit thicker than the regular pages!
All the quotes are super encouraging and inspiring. I love this because it motivates me to get my tasks done so I can accomplish my end goals.
The first page of each month after the divider is the monthly goal setting page. You can set 3 big goals for the month and start planning your weekly + daily tasks accordingly.
Aside from the three big goals, you can also set goals for the following categories on this page:
- Personal Growth;
- Fun & Recreation;
- Health & Fitness;
- Home Improvements;
- Finance Goals;
- Connect with People.
I love that the last one of them is people you want to connect with this month. It’s so important to pursue our goals, but at the same time not forget our friends and loved ones! Life is supposed to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest. Our goals can’t take up our whole life.
After all, what fun would it be to accomplish them if we had no one to share the achievement with?
This page is where you’re going to reflect on your goals and think about what success on each one of them really looks like for you. You’ll also write down your motivation, roadblock scenarios, and consequences to not accomplishing these goals.
I honestly haven’t really used this page for myself yet. I think it’s way too much work… 😅 The next page, though is one of my favorites!
Every month, there’s always a new project happening! Whether it’s a birthday party, travel planning, or work stuff, I love using this page to plan the different things going on in my life.
I have used it both for work, for planning a new product I was about to launch, and for personal things, like planning our next trip to Brazil.
This page has different sections for the details of your plans, the tasks to be done, notes & ideas, brainstorming, and important dates and milestones.
Month at a Glance
This is where you can record all the main events happening each month.
For example, for my blog, I plan my editorial calendar on this page, any brand collaborations I have going on or special projects that will happen!
Now, this is where the magic happens! Most planners divide their days horizontally. Ruth’s planner is divided vertically, which allows you to block time on your day for all the different tasks you’ll need to accomplish!
The time slots start at 6 am and go all the way to 10 pm. You can plan for errands, lunchtime, work time, etc. You can plan your whole day there.
Below the schedule, there’s a small section for must-do tasks, aka the really important stuff! After that, there’s another small section for meal planning.
How convenient is it having a meal planning box right there?
On the right side, you can see there’s also a space for your grocery list. This one I don’t really use because I rather create my grocery list o my phone. This way, it’s always with me.
On your planner, you’ll have enough pages for 5 weeks.
This budget planning page has a ton of categories and subcategories. For families who budget monthly and have a lot of different types of expenses, it’s the perfect template.
For my family, however, our budget is pretty simple and we don’t have nearly as many categories. Most of the time, we use the following page instead and it works perfectly.
This is where I start adding extra expenses to our budget as soon as I find out about them. For example, if I know I’m meeting a friend for coffee, I write it down on this page right away so that when it’s time to make our budget, I don’t forget.
This page is where we create our budget and where we keep track of all of our expenses.
Thoughts & Thanks
This page can be used in many different ways. Honestly, it depends on your personal habits and preferences.
For me, I like to use it to write down things and people to pray for and special things that happened that month. Things I’m grateful for, for instance.
Notes & Ideas
I’d say this page is a clean canvas. Use it for whatever you want. I just love the fact that whatever I need to write, I have space for in this planner. I don’t need to grab separate sheets of paper all the time to write different things. Everything can go in it!
Let’s take a look at the general pages found in the Living Well Planner
You’ll be able to find a few of these pages right in the beginning of the planner, and a few others right before the back cover.
Here’s what you’ll find:
Important Dates & Important Info
Year at a Glance
I looooove the stickers! If you look at the first two rows, you’ll see that I have used all of the stickers. That’s because these are the stickers that go on each monthly divider page. The Living Well Planner comes undated. You’re the one who will choose in what month it starts!
You can start in January when the year starts. You can start in August, with the school year. Or you can start at any time!
What surprised me the most about the Living Well Planner
Even after I made the purchase, before I received the planner, I kept asking myself, “Will it really be worth it?” Five minutes later, I received an email that didn’t leave any doubts in my head.
The email gave me many reasons to be happy about my purchase and excited to finally have the planner in my hands and start using it. That’s what we’re going to go over now.
The Living Well Planner is completely customizable
The Living Well Planner is completely customizable. First in the sense that it’s an undated planner and you can date it however you prefer.
If you like to start your year in August/September, when the school year starts, you can do so. If you like to start in January (like I do), you can do so as well.
Then, it’s also customizable in the sense that all the pages are created to fit your specific lifestyle. If you’re a blogger, you can use the Living Well Planner for your business (and life). If you’re a stay-at-home mom, you can use the planner to organize your whole life.
It doesn’t matter what you want to organize and plan with the Living Well Planner, you’ll be able to do that with the pages that come in it.
The Living Well Planner is a complete life planner (organize your whole life)
I know I’ve said that a hundred times already, but I feel like I have to elaborate so you can understand the extent of it when I say you can organize your WHOLE life with the Living Well Planner.
What I mean by that is that you can organize many aspects of your business and personal life. The Living Well Planner allows you to plan and keep track of your budget in detail.
It allows you to easily meal plan (everybody’s gotta eat, right?), it allows you to set big life goals, yearly goals that will bring you closer to your life goals, and it helps you determine and assign small weekly and daily tasks that will also push you closer to your BIG, scary goals. It helps you plan with time blocking so you can be more productive.
The Living Well Planner helps us live with intention and make sure everything we’re doing has a purpose behind. That we’re not just going through the motions and walking in circles, only to realize we’re not accomplishing anything more than the busy tasks and chores of our daily lives.
The Living Well Planner comes with the Crushing It Central (ok…but what is this?)
This is what I was talking about. The email I received that took away all of the remaining little doubts I had when I pressed that purchase button.
In the email, it said, “Welcome to The Crushing It Central”. I was like what? Crushing It Central? What is this? Then, I realized it’s exactly what my friend was telling me about when I messaged her conflicted about the investment. She was convinced that the Crushing It Central was a big part of why her investment was worth it. And it ended up being so true!
Not only that, but there are a ton of motivational and encouraging videos to help us face our biggest fears and pursue our dreams with courage! Those alone are well beyond worth the investment!
There’s a whole Living Well Planner Community to encourage you
Apart from all of that, there’s also a whole community of Living Well Planners out there who are just ready to encourage us, brainstorm with us, and overcome their fears with us.
Ruth also created an exclusive Facebook group just for Living Well Planner users where we can all connect and be encouragers to each other.
Are you ready to crush your goals this year with the Living Well Planner? (A Complete Life Planner)
Well, I am! I just got my planner a couple of weeks ago and it’s surpassed all of my expectations! Without a doubt, one of the best investments in pushing myself further, to accomplish my goals and dreams! The quality of the material is unquestionable!
Sturdy paper and hard front and back cover, metal corner protectors to make sure the tips don’t bend or tear, and each month has a slightly hardcover.
Everything about this planner, including the Crushing It Central, is well worth the money I paid for. I completely trust Ruth with all of her products. She and her team always select each detail with us (the customers in mind). The paper, cover, stickers, and everything in the planner is beautiful.
I’ve purchased several products from Ruth by now, and all I can say is that she over-delivers every time! The quality of all the products I have received blow me away every. single. time!
Like I said, the Living Well Planner is a complete life planner. It’s completely customizable to your needs and preferences, it’s got a goal-crushing system in place, it allows you to organize several different aspects of your life and/or business, and it also comes with the Crushing It Central and a community of friends.
You can get your planner here right now and start crushing your goals finally being in control of your whole life!
